A UK based life-long grapple fan. I have set out to create several video series, exploring the fascinating world of professional wrestling. Traversing the tumultuous highs of WrestleMania glories past and the darkest depths of bribery, betrayal and murder all along the twisted path that is the history of the squared circle.
WWE’s Most Infamous Year: 2001
The year 2001 was a pivotal and turbulent period in professional wrestling, marked by monumental shifts, unprecedented events, and dramatic turns that reshaped the industry. This documentary, dives deep into the heart of these transformations, exploring the intricate details and behind-the-scenes drama that fans and insiders still discuss to this day.
Our journey begins with one of the most significant storylines in wrestling history - the ECW and WCW invasion of WWE. This era saw WWE absorb its fiercest competitors, ECW and WCW, blending a roster of talent into an explosive storyline that promised a battle for supremacy. This documentary will feature exclusive interviews with key figures who were at the forefront of the invasion, giving insights into the creative decisions, the execution, and the fan reactions that defined the invasion angle. Parallel to the wrestling wars, 2001 also witnessed Vince McMahon’s ambitious venture outside the squared circle with the launch of the XFL. Touted as a revolutionary approach to American football, the XFL aimed to combine the excitement of sports entertainment with traditional football. However, its inaugural season fell dramatically short of expectations.
Through expert commentary and never-before-seen footage, we will explore the rise and fall of the XFL, examining how this failure impacted McMahon's empire and the wrestling world. Another notable chapter in 2001 was the WWF New York, a bold attempt to establish a wrestling-themed restaurant and merchandise store in the heart of Times Square. Despite its initial allure, the business venture struggled to achieve its lofty ambitions, eventually becoming a symbol of overreach in brand extension. This segment of the documentary will dissect the concept, the operational challenges, and the reasons behind its decline, illustrated through interviews with former staff and industry analysts. Throughout the year video viewers will also be treated to a broader view of the year across WWE, WCW, and ECW, featuring major matches, key storyline developments, and the personal stories of wrestlers who rose to prominence or faced significant challenges during this era. From the highs of WrestleMania X-Seven to the lows of business missteps, this documentary captures a unique snapshot of a dynamic year in professional wrestling.

Should The Undertaker Have Retired After Losing The Streak
Man this woman was an Amazonian Goddess. Sigh rip queen
Mike Adamle suddenly resigned saying that WWE's morals did not line up with his... Vince had given Adamle a lot of power suddenly & then after basically Adamle began to be primed to run RAW, he suddenly showed up & announced his departure due to the conflict
Von erics.
Man tht shrek thing was so unnecessary wtf
No matter what this man has done, his "real American" music video will always be a godsent
Hahaha. Hulk Hogan is amazing. We went to Hulk Hogans hangout in Clearwater Florida on a Monday night for some kareoke, and it was an absolute ball. Hogan had rounds of shots going around the bar 3 times. Amazing host.
13:24 - Other wrestlers have mentioned this, as Edge said that JBL came up behind him in the shower and started touching his privates (as a "rib"). And they also took that one ref's clothes off and wheeled him around the backstage area. Also, Terri Runnels said that Brock exposed himself to her (and her husband told her to no-sell it).
Garbage
Hey uh ik I'm a bit late but There is no heritage to the confederate flag. The confederacy lasted for 8 years. It's used pretty strictly for discrimination.
Did anyone see how little Kevin Nash’s legs were in the pic at the beginning of the video
Like how much shrek do we need
ECW was Passion for Pro Wrestling Violence!!!
Some of the talent from WCW and ECW were misused and underutilized
The invasion storyline was a box-office flop
At least punk had the stones to step into a real fighting ring not once but twice .props
these AI channels are the worst.
That was the year that Vince McMahon bought WCW
Had a whole shrek section and didnt even shout out Maurice Tillet smh
His wife's just as disturbing as he is for standing by this BS
Shrek section ends at 38:03
thank u
Yeah 2001 Wasn’t A Good Year For The WWE. WCW 1999 Was More Interesting. The Invasion Angle Was Boring From Beginning To End And After The Invasion Was Boring. WCW June 1999 To The End Of The Year Was More Interesting Than WWE Hune 2001-End Of Year. Some Weeks In June, July & August & September 1999 Compete With WWE April & May 1999. Then You Have WCW Jan-April 1999 For WWE Jan-April 2, 2001. WWE Started Going Downhill In Late 2000. WCW In The Spring Of 1999 Ratings Only Decreased Because Top Stars Injuries./Disbandment Of The NWO.
The wwe didn't exist in 2001 buddy
15:37 ???
Cte. It’s wild
Video starts at 2:57
Cripple stone cold is always funny 4 me to look @ post like driver like dose any 1 enjoy that tea the wrestle mania match 20 years l8r with owners was good he obviously got carried

When was this video uploaded? Description says 3weeks ago but when talking about BSK you said as of 2020 only 5 members were HOF members. Undertaker was inducted in 2020.
The last full final year of the world wrestling federation before the name change may 6 2002
Hulk Hogan was the last ever WWF champion
@@jameswesten2018 yeah I remember and the undertaker is the first wwe champion after judgement day 2002
@@mercuryman1250that all seems kind of fitting.
You focused to long on guy wrestlers feet that was very uncomfortable bro
Ric Flair is the greatest of all time.
Austin arriving and saving team WWF is my favorite moment from wrestling
W thumbnail!
12:08 this is mostly correct
Vince Macmahon saying that the Benoit tragedy was an act of deliberation confesses facts from the man that would know the most about them. It was William Regal that did the heavy lifting with regard to the Benoits. As for Dr. Atman, I don't know which thug Vince recruited to off him...once he finally got out of prison.
Nah, not the most depraved. The MOST SUCCESSFUL depraved person in professional wrestling history.
five adult children and three of them suicide young. look in the mirror, fritz
Bro could you be more quiet next time? I can't watch when the video is so loud.
1:01:34 I’ll sell that finisher no problem
i will to some degree like to see a overhaul off the ring design / padding in the post that stick up over the top rope in the corners / and a more flexible floor now i dont think todays fans will object to that knowing what these guys body is going true / try it in a couple off weeks and get the feedback from the wrestlers - in the training room .
i thought austin actually got arrested. come on dude. your channel is really good. just keep grinding. don't be doing this clickbait bullcrap.
How many kids did Warrior kill?
I used to be a huge fan of wrestling and the Warrior was my favorite wrestler.
How dare anyone question Hulk Hogan claims....? Did y'all not also know that The Hulkster slammed Godzilla in front of 250,000 fans and Japan.... 😅
So we are just gonna skip past Bobby Lashley's TNA Impact Wrestling success while he was an active mma fighter?! 😅😅😅😅
As I got older, I saw how hilarious it was and a wrestling match. Each opponent will have punched one another over a hundred times with no bruised, swollen, and / or lumped up face. Meanwhile, regardless how boring a boxing or mma bout is, both or one of the opponents will be bruised up. I know the professional wrestlers put their bodies on the line, but it doesn'’t mean that pro wrestling and their fans are looked down upon. But in the beginning professional wrestling was a legitimate combat sport, but some wrestling matches would last hours and some even for days... Hence, why the wrestlers made a pact to make pro wrestling more of a entertainment and agree not to hurt one another so they would be able to make money and travel to different places to get the fans interested.
People talk about Shawn having great mic skills and charisma is overblown, he was better on the mic than bret but he wasn't very good on the mic either, so many were better on the mic. Shawn was a guy girls like, he wasn't some manly man
I thought it was WWE not WWFeet lmao
"RORYS WAR" 😂
Flair clearly wants to die in the ring.
